Born of Goodly Parents

In my studies this morning I was reading in the book of Enos out of the Book of Mormon. The first verse stood out to me;

  "Behold, it came to pass that I, Enos, knowing my father that he was a just man—for he taught me in his language, and also in the nurture and admonition of the Lord—and blessed be the name of my God for it—"

As I read this I thought of my own parents. They have taught me to be a good person. They have taught me to love God and to treat others right. My mom and my dad are just people. They taught me to the best of their abilities, and I am blessed for that. I'm grateful for them. I wouldn't be the person that I am today without them.

"I, Sister Alaina Knoll, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days."

When I went into the waters of baptism on September 22, 2012, my life was changed forever. The things my wonderful parents taught me was only magnified! My father was baptized the following January and I hope to someday see the rest of my family take upon the name of Christ and make the same sacred covenants in which my father and I have made. I know it will only bless them and bring them hope, peace and comfort which we all search for in our lives.
